ABOUT US

Our History

The Union Township Fire Department has a proud tradition of serving the residents of Union Township, Chillicothe, and Ross County, Ohio with dedication and professionalism. From its humble beginnings to the modern, well-equipped department it is today, our firefighters and emergency personnel have remained committed to protecting lives and property.

Early Years

The department was established to meet the growing need for fire protection in Union Township and surrounding communities. In its early years, local volunteers and community members came together, responding to emergencies with limited equipment and resources but an unwavering sense of duty.

Growth & Expansion

As the township grew, so did the demands on the fire department. Over the years, new fire stations were built, modern firefighting apparatus was acquired, and emergency medical services (EMS) were expanded. The department has evolved to keep pace with advancements in firefighting technology, emergency response protocols, and community safety initiatives.

Today & Beyond

Today, the Union Township Fire Department operates with a team of highly trained firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs who provide fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, and public education programs. We are committed to ongoing training, community engagement, and continuous improvement to ensure the highest level of service.

As we look toward the future, we remain dedicated to innovation, preparedness, and serving with excellence—protecting our community for generations to come.
