TERMS AND CONDITIONS


To complete this application, you must submit a driving record from the BMV and a criminal background check from your local law enforcement.

Your application will not be processed until both are received.


If accepted, you will serve a one-year probation period during which your

employment can be ended at any time without explanation.


If you request the department to pay for any training, you must sign a contract.


If you choose to become a firefighter with Union Township Fire Department, you must follow all safety policies, including a no beard rule, in line with NFPA Standards and department procedures.


By signing, you confirm all information in your application is true. False or

misleading information may lead to your removal from the department.


You also authorize the Union Township Fire Department and Township Trustees to investigate your background, including personal and criminal history. This may include contacting individuals or agencies not listed in your application. You release all parties involved in the investigation from any liability.

  • Background check:

    • Local Check: If you’ve lived in Ross County for the past 5 years – call the Ross County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 773-1186 (usually free).

    • BCI Check: If you’ve lived outside Ross County within the past 5 years – call the same number. (Self-pay; money order or cashier’s check required. No cash, personal checks, credit, or debit cards.)


You may email your driver’s abstract and background check to uniontwpleadership@gmailcom in advance or bring them with you to your interview.
